Few updates worth mentioning

I’ve been busy the past few days, and there are a few updates worth mentioning. You’ve probably read the Studio News issued this morning. If not, the link to that is in the last post. Take a look, and if you are not a subscriber, go ahead and subscribe. It’s free.

The web site has a new look. I think it’s important to freshen the look from time to time and the best way to do that is to change the header image. The banner image is a crop from my most recent business card. If you don’t have one, ask for it the next time we see each other. I usually freshen the business cards every year, too.

Speaking of travel, I’ve been getting the motorcycle ready with a spring tune up.

It’s all back together, and I just finished giving it a shake-down ride. It purrs like a sewing machine, and runs like an antelope. I’m ready for the riding season, although it really never ends for me. It just slows down in the winter.

I’ve received very positive feedback from readers about the Studio News. People enjoy reading it, especially the travel related material. To thank you for your faithful readership, I have decided to give you first reports for an upcoming adventure, and when the adventure is complete, a free download to a full article. These reports will be identified with a unique banner, Sojourn Chronicles Special Report, and will not be produced on the web site blog. It’s for Studio News subscribers only!

The special reports will be all travelogue with a few tips thrown in, and will be sent from the road on a daily basis. I hope you will be entertained and perhaps enlightened, enough so that you will tell your friends.

Ohio River at Flood Stage

Wanting to get out on the motorcycle, I rode to Ault Park overlooking the Ohio River. There were quite a few other curious people examining the flood level of the river. At the time of the picture, it is about two feet above flood stage.

Dreaming of Arizona

In a few weeks, I should be heading towards Arizona for a little work and pleasure. Of course, I hope to do a little hiking, and one of my favorite spots is the Superstition Mountains just east of the Phoenix area.

There are a number of trails around the base of the mountain in the Superstition Mountains State Park, and on the other side, accessible through a new subdivision is the Peralta Trail. To the north, more trails that can take you back into the wilderness, like the one crossing Black Mesa through what seems like a tunnel passing through cholla cactus like the one above. Cholla is not a plant to be messed with. It is called the jumping cactus, and its barbed spines require pliers for removal. Just ask my wife.
