Empty ball fields where the pros used to play

The Arizona Diamondbacks used to have a training facility in Tucson. I had visited on several occasions to photograph. However, the Diamondbacks built a new training facility in Scottsdale, and the ball fields, although very well kept, seem silent.

With my travels to Arizona, I stopped at the training facility to reminisce and photograph.

  1. Brent, Here in Casa Grande we have a hotel and the bones of an entire development that was done long ago for the SF Giants. There was even to be an airport. The Giants were lured to Scottsdale also, and now it’s a hotel, golf course, and a long curving street named Candlestick Drive.

Stop by if you can, we’ll have lunch where Willie Mays did.

  2. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your adventures at the Overland Expo! That moment on the interstate with the truck made me “pucker” too!. It was great seeing Carla King with you–she probably doesn’t remember me but I remember our great conversation when she was in Rosemont, IL. BTW, I could also almost smell Ara Gureghian’s food! Thanks for sharing your adventures…
